About the Site

The Reproducing Piano Roll Foundation is pleased to present our tribute to one whom we feel is a genuinely gifted pianist and Composer. Ferruccio Busoni was hardly enigmatic regarding his talent; his iconoclastic personality shook the foundation of European piano performances.. What he represented was a combination of culture, phenominal talent and original musical concept.. These made him, again in our estimation, the archetypal pianist of the 20th century. This modest tribute exists to remind the world of his significance and of the legacy he leaves to the history of the performing arts.

Currently this tribute consists of a short biography; a more complete version is available in "PDF' or Portable Document Format. You will find the link for it on the biography page. The PDF requires the use of Acrobat Reader to view. If you don't have a viewer or are using an older version please check the Adobe website for the latest version which is free and easily installed. Additional information includes a biography, details of compositions, concerts, repertory; and a discography of the recordings of his compositions. Pictures of the composer will be added to the tribute as they become available.

Like its parent site, the RPRF, this tribute is designed as presentation of the material we have discovered thus far. Interested visitors having information, pictures or any other pertinent materials that they would like to see highlighted on this site are invited to contact us regarding contributing. If you find the site useful, please consider a donation in the amount of your choice to help offset the cost of hosting and maintenance. The organization is a registered non-profit and vested with a 501.(3)C designation, and as such charitable donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you for visiting the Ferruccio Busoni tribute. We hope you will find it interesting and useful. Please bookmark this page and check back from time to time to see how it develops.
